You report to the Finance Manager and own our numbers: the monthly close, budgeting and forecasting, and tax and compliance. The job is to explain the results, not just produce them — work out what drove them, tell the managers who can act, and follow the change through. There is real project work too: better systems, joined-up data and automated reporting. You will work with managers at every level of the business.
Key responsibilities
- Complete the month-end close across all entities to an agreed timetable
- Prepare consolidated and site-level profit and loss and balance sheet reporting
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts and classification of expenditure
- Prepare analysis to support pricing, promotional activity and new product decisions
- Report actual results against budget with commentary and recommended action
- Present results to the leadership group and operational managers,
and help them act on what the numbers show
About you
- Three to five years’ experience as a Management Accountant
- CA or CPA qualified, or close to it, with an accounting, finance or commerce degree
- Solid Excel and solid MYOB experience
- Able to work through large data sets and explain the result in plain terms
- Confident presenting to all levels of an organisation
- Experience improving finance processes, systems or controls
- A broad role with direct involvement in operational and commercial decisions
- Scope to shape the finance function, with real ownership of change
- A pipeline of system, integration and automation projects to lead
