An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager, Tenders and International Funding to join the FMH Research Enterprise and Partnerships team. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development and management of domestic and international grant and tender submissions, as well as industry partnership opportunities classified under HERDC Category 2 and Category 3 research funding.

Working closely with Centres, Networks, Schools and key stakeholders across the Faculty and University Research Portfolio, you will play a critical role in supporting researchers to secure external funding, fostering collaboration with industry and community partners, and ensuring the effective pre-award and post-award management of research grants and tenders. You will also lead the development of systems, processes and resources that strengthen research funding capability and support the Faculty's growing engagement with industry, government and community organisations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- lead and contribute to the strategic direction of HERDC Category 2 and 3 grant and tender activities, including the identification, assessment and prioritisation of new funding and partnership opportunities to facilitate growth of FMH research and partnerships
- provide high-level oversight of Cat 2 and 3 programs, ensuring effective delivery, governance, compliance and alignment with Faculty and University objectives
- partner with academics, research leaders and professional staff to assess the feasibility and development of grant, tender and industry partnership submissions




- provide expert advice and strategic guidance on project operations, funding opportunities, grants administration and tender processes
- lead the provision of end-to-end pre-award and post-award support for grant and tender applicants, including proposal development, budgeting, costing and project establishment
- establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, funding bodies, industry organisations and key opinion leaders to support research growth and impact
- strategically manage stakeholder engagement activities and reporting obligations, ensuring effective partnerships and solid governance arrangements
- liaise with other key stakeholders within Faculty and identify how to best leverage the strengths of the faculty to develop services/products for external partners
- support, organise and participate in Grant and Tender seminars, information sessions, workshops, and other relevant activities to inform researchers of opportunities

About you

- a relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in research administration, business development, grants management, partnerships, or a related field
- proven experience supporting and submitting complex funding proposals, grants and tenders, ideally within a higher education, research, health or government environment equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
- excellent project, time and workload management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes
- strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
- demonstrated experience managing multiple project streams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across complex environments
- experience managing budgets, financial reporting, income and expenditure, including funding and project budgets
- exceptional organisational skills,



attention to detail and the ability to analyse information and manage competing demands
- the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and provide high-level advice and support to researchers and stakeholders
- a proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent stakeholder outcome
- experience within a university, research, health, government or industry partnership environment will be highly regarded.
