The Role
Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will play a key role in reviewing SMSF audits and supporting the development of junior team members. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and leadership skills in a specialised field.
- Review initial audits of SMSF financial statements and compliance in line with internal procedures and standards.
- Identify and clearly document audit queries, completion items, and required evidence.
- Ensure audit documentation is accurate, complete, and of a high standard.
- Report significant audit matters to the Audit Manager.
- Provide on-the-job coaching, feedback, and guidance to junior auditors.
- Undertake initial SMSF audits where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing your own workload.
- Maintain high audit quality and adherence to performance expectations and KPIs.
To be successful in this role you will need
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying towards).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in superannuation/SMSF audit.
- Strong SMSF technical knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve KPIs.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
