As Operations Manager Pearce you will be working within the Government Business Unit ofPilAUSwhere you will have a key role supporting all Pilatus Government Operations and reporting to the Director Operations Pearce.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager Pearce has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational output and co-ordination of all material/supply support and maintenance liaison activities related to the in-service support of the RAAF Pilot Training System (PTS) PC-21 fleet located at RAAF Base Pearce. This role works collaboratively with the Operations Manager East Sale to collectively support the full RAAF fleet of 49 PC-21 aircraft.
This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Primary
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the PTS capability at RAAF Base Pearce, ensuring alignment with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and proactively address deviations or risks to performance.
- Primary point of contract for the PTS sub-contracted arrangements located at RAAF Base Pearce, managed in consultation with the GOV Commercial team.
- Responsible for providing operational performance reporting inputs, including data capturing, trend analysis and reporting in accordance with the contractual performance measurements.
- Management of the PTS personnel and Warehouse functional output.
- Ensure continuity of material supply, including cost benefit analysis of approved local component maintenance, maintenance repair and overhauls (MRO’s), optimal order quantities and consumable materials usage.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analyse and resolve supply chain issues and develop effective solutions to logistical and technical issues across the program related to material supply.
- Support life cycle cost analysis with the aim to identify supply and maintenance cost reduction improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and logistics functions.
Qualifications
- Formal technical training (engineering degree or equivalent, or comparable experience).
- Highly desirable: Diploma or Certificate in Aviation and Aerospace Management.
- Highly desirable: Knowledge of the principles and application of output-based service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g. DASA, CASA).
- At least 5 years’ experience with in-service support of aircraft under a military performance-based contract.
Experience
- Operational management experience in an aviation logistics and maintenance environment.
- Experience with in-service support of aircraft under a performance-based contract.
- Experience with maintenance tracking systems and inventory management software.
- Familiarity with reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) practices.
- Overall competence in aircraft logistic and maintenance support disciplines, preferably military turbo prop aircraft.
- Proven dispute resolution skills and ability to interface effectively to customers and business partners.
- Highly desirable: Experience in military or government aviation programs.
