About the opportunity

As Head of HSE Operations, you will be the leader who turns national safety strategy into action. You will connect with the frontline, ensuring information becomes insight, insight drives decisions and lessons learned at a single site strengthen performance across the entire network.

You will lead national safety governance, reporting, incidentcommunicationand operational assurance. You will strengthen ICAM investigation standards, improve data integrity, accelerate correctiveactionclosureandestablishforums that leaders value because they deliver clarity and results.

Your early focus will be listening, buildingtrustand understanding how work really happens. Within 3 months, you will haveestablishedstrong relationships, assessed the national operatingmodeland delivered practical improvements. By 6 months, reporting and governance will be secure, investigation quality will be improving and lessons learned will be translating into verified action. Within 12 months, leaders will trust your numbers and judgement,



recurring incidents will bereducing,and safety will be recognised as an operational advantage.

This is visible, hands-on leadership. You will spend time in depots, coach local teams through difficult moments and hold leaders accountable while creating the confidence required for people to speak openly and act decisively.

About you

You are an accomplished HSE leader with degreelevel qualifications and substantial experience in transport, heavy vehicles, mining,manufacturingor anotherhigh-risksetting. You bring seriousincident ICAMexpertise, practical knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and the data literacy toidentifymeaningful trends across a complex network.

You bring strong working knowledge of Australian WHS requirements, heavy vehicleregulationand Chain of Responsibility obligations. You communicate risk in plain language, distinguish meaningful controls from unnecessaryadministrationand inspire leaders to take ownership.

Just as importantly, you know how to lead. You build credibility through presence, ask incisivequestionsand bring calm judgement when the stakes are high. You simplify complexity, challenge constructively and inspire ownership without adding unnecessary process.
