About the Position

This is a hands-on assembly role suited to someone with practical mechanical ability and basic experience working with hydraulic systems.

You will be responsible for assembling Grainline machinery and components to specification, including the installation and connection of hydraulic and mechanical systems.

We are looking for someone who can work confidently from job cards and instructions, understands the importance of correct assembly and takes ownership of the quality of their work.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble agricultural machinery and components according to job cards, drawings and work instructions

- Install and connect basic hydraulic components, hoses and fittings

- Complete mechanical assembly of drive systems, bearings, shafts and associated components

- Identify assembly, fitment or component issues and raise them with the appropriate supervisor

- Ensure completed work meets Grainline's quality standards

- Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively

- Maintain an organised and safe work area

- Work with the wider production team to achieve scheduled production requirements

What You'll Bring

Essential





- Basic practical experience with hydraulic systems, hoses, fittings or hydraulic components

- Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools and machinery

- Previous experience in assembly, mechanical fitting, manufacturing, agricultural machinery or a similar hands-on environment

- Ability to follow job cards, work instructions and assembly procedures accurately

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Valuable communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to identify problems and seek clarification rather than simply continuing with incorrect assembly

Desired

- Experience assembling agricultural, industrial or heavy equipment

- Experience with mechanical drive systems, bearings, shafts and gearboxes

- Basic electrical or wiring experience

- Ability to read basic engineering drawings

- Forklift licence
