Job Description
Down Under Centre Australia Pty Ltd St Agnes’ Catholic Parish is seeking a qualified and committed Early Childhood Teacher to join St Joseph’s Family Services in Port Macquarie.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver high-quality, inclusive, play-based education and care programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard and the Centre’s philosophy. The role also involves guiding educators, supporting children’s development and building respectful partnerships with families.

Task & responsibilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate inclusive, play-based educational programs.
- Plan learning experiences based on children’s developmental needs, strengths and interests.
- Observe, assess and document children’s learning and progress.
- Create safe, welcoming and stimulating physical and social learning environments.
- Ensure programs comply with the
Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard.
- Build respectful relationships with children, families, educators and community professionals.
- Consult with families regarding their children’s participation, development and progress.
- Lead and support educators, students and volunteers in professional practice.
- Model effective early-childhood teaching practices and encourage reflective practice.
- Maintain accurate records relating to enrolment, attendance, health, wellbeing and curriculum delivery.
- Support children’s health, safety,
inclusion and overall wellbeing.
- Comply with child-protection, workplace health and safety, and organisational requirements.
Qualification & experience Applicants must have:
- a recognised Bachelor degree in
Early Childhood Education or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification;
- current NSW Education Standards Authority accreditation, or eligibility to obtain it;
- experience developing, implementing and evaluating early-childhood curricula;
- sound knowledge of the
Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard;
- knowledge of child development and play-based learning;
- strong written and verbal communication skills;
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an early-childhood education team; and
- a commitment to reflective practice and continuing career development.
The successful applicant must hold or be able to obtain:
- a current
Working With Children Check;
- a National Criminal History Record Check;
- an approved Child Protection certificate; and
- current approved first-aid qualifications, including CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management.
An understanding of the Catholic faith and a willingness to support and work in harmony with the Parish’s values, mission and code of conduct are required.
