Probate Clerk / Wills & Estates Personal Assistant with Experience in Probate
MST Lawyers, a mid-tier law firm based in Mount Waverley is looking for a permanent full-time experienced Probate Clerk or a Wills & Estates Personal Assistant with experience in handling Probate matters. Anyone looking to work a minimum four days per week will also be considered.
This position will involve you working closely with the Principal & SeniorLawyers in the team and primarily managing probate matters however can also involve administrative assistance such the following:
- Opening and closing files;
- Preparing, formatting and reviewing legal documentation, including correspondence and court documents;
- collating asset responses;
- assisting with the drafting of Powers of Attorneys;
- Autonomous file management - conduct of matter related tasks, monthly billing, time recording and maintaining productive and effective electronic files;
- Communicating with clients, debtors, third parties, courts;
The successful applicant must have a sound knowledge of legal processes and procedures and be familiar with estateXchange and Redcrest, and preferably have some PEXA experience (survivorship applications and legal personal representative).
The applicant must also possess the following attributes:
- Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills;
- High attention to detail;
- Strong work ethic;
- Be able to work well under pressure, autonomously and as part of a team;
- Great communication;
- Be committed to providing excellent service;
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook is essential. Experience with working with the Lexis Affinity Practice Management System is also highly desirable.
