As a Junior Financial Crime Systems Analyst at Swyftx, you’ll support our Financial Crime Team by analysing, designing and maintaining the systems used to detect and prevent financial crime. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand and document system requirements, evaluate existing systems and processes, and design and implement fit-for-purpose solutions that strengthen our financial crime detection and prevention capability.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset who enjoys translating business and data requirements into effective system solutions and using technology to solve complex problems. Please note that this is a Brisbane based role, from our Milton office.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse and evaluate the processes and methods used across existing Swyftx ICT systems, and recommend modifications, additional system components or new systems to optimise financial crime detection and prevention.
- Design and build tools and system components, including detection logic, monitoring consoles and cross-platform automations, to enhance the Financial Crime technology stack.
- Work closely with AML, Fraud and Verification teams to gather, analyse and document business,
system and data requirements for monitoring and investigation tooling.
- Translate business processes and information needs into fit-for-purpose, data-driven system solutions, collaborating with stakeholders across the business as required.
- Support the design and ongoing development of databases and data warehouse capabilities required for financial crime transaction monitoring systems.
- Monitor and support data quality, integrity and accuracy, identifying and reporting inconsistencies where appropriate.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Swyftx systems and processes while staying up to date with developments in systems analysis, data analytics and financial crime technologies.
Requirements
- A qualification in Business Management majoring in Business Information Systems, or a relevant related discipline.
- 1–2 years’ experience in financial crime prevention, detection, investigation or a related field.
- An understanding of systems analysis and design principles, including requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex datasets and draw meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL,
along with experience using at least one data visualisation or analytics tool such as Splunk, Tableau or Power BI.
- An understanding of the global financial crime landscape, including relevant motives, trends and indicators.
- An understanding of Australian regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality, accuracy and high-quality outcomes.
- High standards of personal security and integrity, with the ability to exercise discretion and make independent decisions.
- An understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology will be highly regarded.

Please note that salary for this role is $80,000 + super
