Front of House Bakery Assistant Full Time

Tonitto Continental Cakes is seeking a Front of House Bakery Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Wollongong, NSW, this is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of our retail operations and customer-facing team. In this role, you will be the face of our bakery, creating memorable experiences for our customers whilst supporting the smooth running of our front-of-house operations. This position is integral to our mission of delivering exceptional service and maintaining the high standards that our customers expect from Tonitto Cakes.

Key responsibilities

Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, attentive service at the counter

Processing customer transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system

Displaying and promoting our bakery products in an appealing and hygienic manner

Barista skills required to produce consistant, quality beverages

Handling cash and card payments, ensuring accuracy and security at all times

Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment

Assisting customers with product selection and answering questions about our offerings

Restocking shelves and displays throughout the day

Supporting the preparation and presentation of bakery items for sale

Following food safety and health and hygiene protocols

Providing feedback to management regarding customer preferences and product performance

What we're looking for

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour

Strong communication abilities and a genuine passion for helping customers





Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to consistent attendance

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment

Basic numeracy skills and competence with handling cash and electronic transactions

A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining a tidy, professional workspace

Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends as required

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items

A willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures

Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable
