Kitchen Manager – Bakehouse on Somerville

Location: Winthrop, WA
Employment Type: Full-time, Tuesday to Saturday, approx. 6:00am–2:00pm

Bakehouse on Somerville is a busy, community-loved bakery in Winthrop, serving fresh food, great coffee and valuable vibes every day.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a reliable, organised and self-motivated Kitchen Manager to take ownership of our kitchen operations. We need someone experienced and creative who can manage their own time, follow daily prep lists and systems (and help improve these!), keep things running smoothly and make sure the front-of-house team has what they need for a great day.

What you’ll be doing:

Preparing toasties, filled rolls, quiches and hot food

Prepping ingredients and keeping production flowing throughout the day

Jumping in to support service when needed — taking orders, handing out food and helping keep things moving

Handling Uber Eats, DoorDash and in-store food orders during your shift

Manage catering orders and helping grow this side of the business

Ordering kitchen stock, monitoring inventory and putting away deliveries

Maintaining food safety standards,



including temp checks, labelling and correct storage

Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and stocked

Continuously improving systems and routines as the business grows

About you:

Experience in a commercial kitchen, café, bakery or similar food prep environment

Happy to jump in and help wherever needed — not just stay in the kitchen

Reliable, organised and able to work independently

Confident following checklists, prep sheets and daily routines

Takes pride in a clean, well-run workspace

Has a Food Safety Supervisor or Food Handlers certificate (or willing to obtain one)

Available Tuesday to Saturday, approx. 6:00am–2:00pm (days and time negotiable for the right person!)

Daytime hours — no late nights
