PMR Diesel is looking for an experienced 4WD / Diesel Mechanic with strong mechanical knowledge, good diagnostic ability and the confidence to work independently.
This position is for someone who already knows the trade, can take ownership of their jobs and takes pride in doing quality work.
We’re looking for an experienced mechanic who can diagnose faults properly, identify defects, recommend the correct repairs and see a job through from start to finish.
The Role
You’ll work across a variety of vehicles and equipment, including:
- 4WDs and light vehicles
- Landcruisers, Patrols, Rangers and similar vehicles
- Commercial and fleet vehicles
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repairs
- Engine and driveline repairs
- Cooling system repairs
- Suspension, steering and brakes
- Electrical and electronic fault finding
- Scan-tool diagnostics
- Vehicle inspections and defect identification
- Preventative maintenance and servicing
- Major mechanical repairs
This is not a position where you’ll spend every day carrying out basic servicing.
We want someone who enjoys fault finding, mechanical repairs and solving problems properly.
About You
You will need to be:
- Trade qualified as a Motor Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic
- Experienced post-trade
- Confident working independently
- Solid with diagnostics and fault finding
- Experienced with 4WDs, diesel or commercial vehicles
- Able to inspect vehicles and identify defects
- Able to accurately report repair requirements
- Efficient without compromising workmanship
- Reliable and organised
- Proud of the quality of your work
- Able to provide clear job notes and recommendations
- Holder of a current manual driver’s licence
- Equipped with your own basic hand tools
Experience with Landcruisers, Patrols, Rangers, diesel vehicles and fleet maintenance will be highly regarded.
