Ready to Take Your Product Design Experience to a Bigger Stage?

Our client is a successful Australian designer and manufacturer creating everyday consumer products for major retailers across Australia and New Zealand, with an expanding international presence.

They are seeking a Senior Industrial Designer with specialist knowledge of home storage, laundry and organisation, combined with strong expertise in plastics, injection moulding, engineering and design for manufacture. This is a genuine idea-to-shelf opportunity—from concept and engineering through to tooling, manufacturing and seeing your products in major retail stores worldwide.

A Different Kind of Product Business

This is an ambitious, commercially driven business—but it believes how you grow matters.

Led by exceptional people, they have built a refreshingly different workplace where everyone has a voice and individuals are genuinely valued.

Their philosophy is simple:

People first. Customers second. Products third.

Because great people who genuinely understand their customers create better products.

As the business grows globally, it is pushing further into product engineering, smarter materials, responsible manufacturing and sustainable design—without losing sight of functionality, affordability or commercial reality.

The Role – From Idea to Shelf

Working across Design & Product, Buying, Sales & Marketing, engineering and international manufacturing partners, you will:

- Research consumers, markets, materials and emerging opportunities
- Translate customer needs into innovative, manufacturable products
- Create advanced SolidWorks CAD, surfacing and production-ready designs
- Engineer injection-moulded plastic components, considering draft, wall thickness, ribs, snap-fits, tolerances and assembly
- Apply strong engineering and DFM principles from concept through production
- Select materials based on performance, durability, cost and environmental impact
- Prototype, test and refine products for usability, strength and longevity
- Work with engineers,

toolmakers and manufacturing partners through tooling and production

About You

You will bring 5 or more years’ Industrial or Product Design experience, ideally within home storage, laundry, organisation, household products or FMCG.

You will also have:

- Strong expertise in plastics and injection moulding
- Advanced SolidWorks and surfacing capability
- A thorough understanding of tooling, materials, engineering and DFM
- Proven experience taking products from concept into mass production
- Relevant Industrial Design or Product Design qualifications

Most importantly, you care about why a product should exist, how it is engineered, what it is made from, how long it will last and whether it genuinely makes everyday life better.

Why Make the Move?

Because growth shouldn’t come at the expense of people, customers or partnerships.

This is an ambitious, commercially driven business, but it believes how you grow matters.

The culture is deliberately different.

Good ideas don’t need to travel through layers of hierarchy before they are heard, and job titles don’t determine whose opinion matters.

People come first. Customers are treated as partners, not transactions. Suppliers and manufacturing partners are respected as an important part of creating great products.

The belief is simple: when you look after your people, genuinely understand your customers and build robust partnerships, better products and stronger commercial results follow.

For a designer, that means more than another job.

It means having a seat at the table, greater ownership from idea to shelf, direct exposure to customers and decision-makers, and the opportunity to influence what gets created next.

You’ll join an Australian business with significant international exposure that is determined to grow without losing what makes it different: Great people. Strong customer partnerships. Better products. Smarter materials. Responsible choices.
