Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisorto join our mobile crane operations business. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, industry standards, client requirements and internal systems across our fleet, sites and facilities.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the company’s safety, compliance systems, working closely with operational teams to drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

Maintain and continuously improve the Company Safety Management System in line with WHS legislation and industry standards.

Log, investigate and report all incidents and injuries, including trend analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

Prepare, chair and document monthly Safety Meetings.

Conduct monthly safety audits of the office, yard, workshop and operational sites.

Complete a minimum of three (3) site safety observations per month, including face-to-face prestarts.

Prepare, distribute and track weekly Toolbox Talks.

Ensure compliance with SWMS, Risk Assessments and Safe Work Procedures, including creation and review for all plant and activities.

Maintain and enhance the Online Induction system to ensure accuracy and legislative compliance.

Monitor employee compliance with safety obligations and report non-conformance to management.

Order and manage PPE stock levels and ensure the PPE cupboard remains fully stocked.

Plant, Equipment & Regulatory Registers

Maintain all statutory and internal safety registers, including:

Height safety

Quarterly lifting inspections

Fire extinguisher inspections

Lifting clutch load testing

Annual chain inspections





Schedule and coordinate CraneSafe inspections.

Conduct random audits of MEX to ensure compliance with daily plant prestart requirements.

Maintain the Hilti asset database.

Maintain crane folders and Client Crane Packs, including accessing the QLD Transport portal to obtain and file registration certificates.

Employee & Training Compliance

Monitor employee licences, competencies and VOC expiry dates and issue reminders prior to expiry.

Assist with implementation and tracking of training and competency requirements across the workforce.

Ensure all safety documentation is correctly filed, version controlled and accessible (hard copy and digital).

Administration & Support

Maintain safety records, forms and registers, creating new documents as required.

Ensure safety documentation is displayed and communicated throughout the business.

Complete accurate weekly timesheets as required.

About You

Previous experience in a Safety Advisor, HSEQ or Safety & Compliance role, ideally within mobile cranes, construction, transport or heavy industry.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance and auditing requirements.

Experience managing plant, equipment and statutory inspections.

High attention to detail with strong document control and organisational skills.

Confident communicator able to engage with operators, management and clients.

Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
