Leaders Institute is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Research Supervisors to provide high-quality academic supervision to postgraduate research students, including students undertaking the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program.

The Research Supervisor will guide students throughout the research journey, supporting the development of rigorous, ethical and academically sound research. The role involves providing expert academic advice, constructive feedback and ongoing mentoring to assist students in successfully completing their research projects and dissertations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and/or joint supervision to postgraduate research and DBA students.
- Guide students in developing appropriate research topics, research questions and objectives.
- Support the development of research proposals, literature reviews and conceptual or theoretical frameworks.
- Advise students on appropriate qualitative, quantitative or mixed research methodologies.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on research proposals, chapters, drafts and final dissertations.
- Monitor student research progress and support students in meeting agreed milestones and submission deadlines.
- Assist students with research ethics requirements and responsible research practices.
- Support students in interpreting research findings and developing academically rigorous conclusions and recommendations.
- Maintain appropriate records of supervision meetings, feedback and student progress.
- Identify students who may require additional academic support and refer concerns through appropriate academic channels.




- Encourage high standards of academic integrity, scholarly writing and research quality.
- Work collaboratively with co-supervisors, academic staff and research leadership where required.
- Participate in research progress reviews, presentations, seminars and other research-related academic activities.
- Remain current with developments in the supervisor's relevant discipline and research methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of a positive research culture within Leaders Institute.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

- A completed doctoral qualification, preferably a PhD, DBA or equivalent Level 10 qualification, in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated research expertise relevant to the areas being supervised.
- Sound knowledge of research design, methodology and academic research practices.
- Demonstrated ability to provide constructive academic feedback and support postgraduate researchers.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- High standards of academic integrity and professional conduct.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Desirable

- Previous experience supervising doctoral or postgraduate research students.
- Experience supervising DBA, PhD, MPhil or Masters by Research dissertation students.




- A strong record of peer-reviewed research publications.
- Experience conducting and publishing qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed-method research.
- Knowledge of Australian higher education research governance and research ethics requirements.
- Experience participating in research examination, proposal review or doctoral milestone processes.

Additional Requirements

Research Supervisors are expected to comply with all Leaders Institute policies and procedures relating to academic integrity, research ethics, student supervision, privacy, workplace conduct and quality assurance.

The scope of supervision and allocation of students will be determined according to the supervisor's qualifications, research expertise, supervisory experience and the requirements of the relevant research program.
