You’ll be joining us in a part-time role on a fixed-termcontract till 30 th of June, 2028, with potential forextension. As our playgroup assistant you’ll play a key role increating welcoming, engaging, and supportive experiences forchildren and families. This role is all about bringing fun,learning, and connection to life through playgroup activities,community programs, and crèche support; making a real difference inthe early years of children’s development while supporting parentsand carers to engage meaningfully with their littleones.

What you’ll be doing:

As our Playgroup Assistant, you’ll behands-on in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment forchildren and families. You’ll plan and run engaging playgroupactivities, including Play in the Park sessions and occasionalcrèche support, while encouraging parents to join in and role modelpositive interactions with their children. Part of your role willinclude keeping accurate records and reports, maintaining playgroupequipment, and ensuring the space is clean, safe, and stimulatingin line with the Early Years Learning Framework and NationalQuality Standards.



You’ll also play an active role in keeping theenvironment hazard-free, following YMCA WA health and safetypolicies, and working closely with the Play at the Park Coordinatoras well as other community stakeholders. Alongside this, you’ll beencouraged to take part in professional development, and of course,lend a hand with any other duties needed to support our team andfamilies.

You’ll be outstanding in this role ifyou…

- Have currentNational Police Clearance and Working With Children Check,or willingness to obtain
- Haveexperience delivering engaging activities for families withyoung children
- Havebackground in program development andimplementation
- Have strongcommunication and interpersonalskills
- Areconfident with basic computer skills andrecord-keeping
- Haveeffective time management with the ability to prioritisetasks and work independently
- HaveCertificate III in Children’s Services (or relevantexperience) – desirable
