Rowdy's Car Carriers is seeking a skilled MR/HR Truck Driver to join our transport team on a full-time basis. Based in Burpengary East, QLD 4505, this role is pivotal to our operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of vehicles across our service regions. As an MR/HR Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating medium-rigid and heavy-rigid vehicles, maintaining our reputation for reliability and professionalism whilst contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics network.
Key responsibilities
Operate medium-rigid (MR) and heavy-rigid (HR) trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant legislation and company policies
Transport vehicles to designated locations, ensuring they arrive in excellent condition and on schedule
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
Maintain accurate logbooks, including driving hours, vehicle condition reports and delivery documentation
Load and secure vehicles appropriately, ensuring compliance with weight distribution and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Adhere to all road rules, speed limits and fatigue management regulations at all times
Maintain a professional demeanour and represent Rowdy's Car Carriers positively with clients and the public
Report accidents, incidents or mechanical faults promptly to management
Undertake routine vehicle maintenance tasks as directed and keep the truck clean and well-maintained
What we're looking for
Valid MR/HR truck driver's licence with a clean driving record
Current chain of responsibility (CoR) certification or willingness to obtain it
Proven experience driving medium-rigid and heavy-rigid vehicles in a professional transport setting
Sound knowledge of road safety regulations,
fatigue management laws and vehicle weight limits
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify faults
Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet delivery schedules consistently
Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with dispatch and customer teams
A professional approach to customer service and a commitment to maintaining vehicle condition
Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
First aid certification or willingness to obtain it is desirable
Experience in the automotive transport or car carrier industry is advantageous
