WEmpower is seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our growing Allied Health team in Port Macquarie.
We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants and are looking for an OT who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred supports and making a genuine difference in the lives of people with disability.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and team-oriented team, working with NDIS participants across a diverse caseload. You’ll work alongside our Allied Health team, participants, families, Support Coordinators, schools, support workers, and other stakeholders to support participants in achieving their goals and building greater independence.
About the role
As an Occupational Therapist with WEmpower, you will provide individualised assessment, intervention, and ongoing support to NDIS participants based on their needs, goals, and circumstances.
The role offers variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to work across different environments including participants’ homes, schools, community settings, and our Port Macquarie office.
We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists seeking either full-time or part-time employment.
Key responsibilities
- Complete Occupational Therapy assessments and develop individualised intervention plans
- Provide evidence-based, person-centred Occupational Therapy supports
- Complete Functional Capacity Assessments and other relevant assessments and reports
- Support participants to build independence with daily living activities and achieve their NDIS goals
- Provide recommendations for assistive technology, equipment, home modifications, and other supports where appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and progress notes
- Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations for participants and the NDIS
- Liaise with participants, families, Support Coordinators, schools, support workers, and other professionals
- Work collaboratively with our Allied Health and wider WEmpower teams
- Maintain professional standards and support compliance with NDIS requirements and organisational policies
About you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working within the NDIS or disability sector is highly regarded
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage your caseload and workload effectively
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team
- A positive, proactive, and participant-focused approach
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the local area
