This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027.

The Role
Duncraig SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher.
Experience teaching senior school subjects such as English Literature and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)
English will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant should be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high-quality teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse needs of our students. Applicants will ideally have excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, and the ability to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences that promote student achievement and wellbeing. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, together with the capacity to work collaboratively as an effective member of a team, are highly desirable. Experience with Gifted and Talented students and a demonstrated ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension students and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) will be highly regarded.
Duncraig SHS offers a range of extracurricular programs and opportunities for students, applicants who demonstrate a passion for being involved in these important complementary programs will be highly regarded. This can include, but is not limited to experience of, or an interest in, facilitating the Debating Program.
The successful applicant should be improvement focused and should be committed to their own ongoing career development. Duncraig SHS places a significant focus on the quality of teaching and learning. The school has worked collaboratively with staff and has embedded a Teaching and Learning framework and model that support best practices in the classroom and teacher development, which maximise student engagement and outcomes. The successful applicant should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to facilitate refinements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Years 7 to 12.
Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with the online teaching and learning platform COMPASS will be well regarded.
