Solar and battery scheduler - Pathway to Operations Manager
Installation Scheduler & Operations Manager – Solar & Batteries
Energy Solar & Batteries is looking for a highly organised, driven and ambitious Installation Scheduler & Operations Manager to join our rapidly growing team.
We are currently installing solar and battery systems throughout Queensland and are now expanding further into New South Wales, with a longer-term plan to grow into a national operation.
Because of that growth, this role has the potential to become far more than a scheduling position.
For the right person, there is a genuine pathway to progress into a senior operations role and potentially become our National Operations Manager as the company expands.
The Role
You will take ownership of coordinating our solar and battery installations and ensuring our installation teams are scheduled as efficiently as possible, while also overseeing key operational functions that support delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling residential solar and battery installations.
- Managing and maintaining the installation calendar.
- Overseeing installation scheduling and operational workflow efficiency.
- Scheduling installers efficiently to maximise productivity and minimise unnecessary travel and downtime.
- Grouping installations geographically to improve efficiencies.
- Planning installation runs across Queensland and New South Wales.
- Organising regional trips away for our installation crews.
- Coordinating multiple installations within the same region wherever possible.
- Communicating daily with installers regarding upcoming jobs, travel and schedule changes.
- Coordinating with our sales, administration and operations teams.
- Ordering stock required for upcoming installations.
- Ordering and coordinating the delivery of solar panels, batteries, inverters and associated equipment from suppliers.
- Ensuring stock is available before installation dates are confirmed.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding stock availability and delivery timeframes.
- Working hours are 6:00am to 4:00pm daily to assist with morning van loading before crews head to site.
- A forklift licence and ability to drive a forklift would be highly advantageous.
- Rescheduling jobs when weather, stock, customers or other circumstances affect the installation program.
- Maintaining accurate job information within our systems.
- Monitoring future workload and identifying scheduling, staffing or stock issues before they become problems.
Experience We Would Value
Previous experience within the solar and battery industry would be highly advantageous.
Experience with Simpro would also be highly regarded.
We would also consider candidates with strong scheduling or operations experience from other trade-based industries such as:
- Field service
Experience or exposure to the electrical trades is highly advantageous, as it provides a stronger understanding of installation workflows, site requirements, compliance considerations and the practical challenges faced by field teams.
You will need excellent computer skills, attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Wants to Build a Career
This is not a position for someone simply looking to watch the clock, complete their hours and go home.
We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership, put in the effort, solve problems and progress their career as the company grows.
There will be busy periods. There will be challenges. Installation schedules will change,
stock issues will arise and regional logistics will need to be solved.
We want someone who enjoys that environment and takes pride in getting the job done.
In return, you will have the prospect to learn an enormous amount about running and growing a high-volume solar and battery installation business.
We are prepared to invest heavily in the right person.
You will receive ongoing training, mentoring and direct exposure to the management and growth of the business.
As your capability and responsibilities increase, so will your remuneration.
For an exceptional applicant who develops into a senior operations role, there is the potential to progress toward a remuneration package of approximately $110,000–$130,000 per year within 12–18 months, depending on performance, responsibilities and the continued growth of the company.
This is not guaranteed simply by being in the position. It is an opportunity for someone who demonstrates the ability to take on significant responsibility and deliver results.
Where This Role Can Lead
Our goal is to continue expanding throughout Queensland and New South Wales and ultimately build a national solar and battery operation.
As that happens, we will need strong people capable of managing:
- Installation teams
- Stock and procurement
- Regional logistics
- Warehousing
- Operational systems
The person who joins us now has the opportunity to grow alongside the company and potentially become a key member of our senior management team.
For the right person, we see this as a long-term career opportunity, not a short-term job.
We are looking for someone who can see themselves still being part of the company five or ten years from now, having grown significantly in both responsibility and income.
If you are ambitious, highly organised, commercially minded and want the opportunity to build a serious career within a rapidly expanding renewable energy business, we would like to hear from you.
