Location: Australia Job Type: Full-time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Kong API Developer with strong expertise in Kong API Gateway and Redis to design, develop, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing API solutions. This role will play a key part in driving API management, integration, security, and performance optimization across enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, configure, and deploy APIs using Kong API Gateway. Develop custom Kong plugins and API management solutions. Implement Redis-based caching, rate limiting, session management, and performance optimization strategies. Integrate APIs with enterprise applications and third-party services. Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform reliability. Implement API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, mTLS, and Zero Trust Architecture principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure integration solutions. Maintain technical documentation, standards, and deployment processes.



Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway . Experience developing and supporting custom Kong plugins . Robust knowledge of Redis for caching, session management, and data storage. Expertise in RESTful API design and development . Experience with Lua, Go, Python, or Node.js . Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Security, Authentication & Authorization . Experience implementing mTLS and Zero Trust Architecture principles. Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines , and DevOps practices. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Desirable Skills Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and API-led integrations. Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments. Exposure to enterprise integration and service orchestration platforms. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred).
