A major transport infrastructure project (valued at
more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland,
delivering complex rail, station and civil works in a live
operational environment. The head contractor is seeking a Senior
Health and Safety Advisor to provide field-focused health and
safety leadership for brownfield construction works. You'll coach
leaders and crews, verify that critical controls are effective, and
help the delivery team plan high-risk work safely in a disciplined,
regulated transport workplace. Indigenous Business Growth (IBG)

to place high quality technical professionals. Our approach is

projects are delivered. Key Responsibilities Partner with
construction leaders to embed health and safety strategy into daily
planning and field execution Provide specialist advice on
Queensland WHS requirements, rail safety duties and project
standards Review high-risk construction work documentation, safe
work method statements and critical-control verifications Undertake
regular field interactions,
inspections and leadership walks across
day, night and weekend shifts Coach supervisors and subcontractors
to improve risk assessment and worker consultation quality
Facilitate risk workshops for possessions, temporary works, lifting
and other high-risk activities Respond to safety incidents and
manage investigations appropriately Ensure project systems meet
Queensland legislation and industry best practice standards Monitor
and report on safety performance metrics and emerging trends
Support operational readiness and safe handover activities What
We're Looking For Diploma or degree in work health and safety,
occupational health, risk or related discipline Formal incident
investigation training 8+ years' HSE experience including senior
advisory responsibility on $100m+ construction or transport
projects Demonstrated rail, brownfield or
live-operational-environment safety experience Working knowledge of
Queensland WHS legislation and high-risk construction controls 2+
years' average tenure per employer with at least one senior HSE
role held for 3+ years Current construction induction card and
ability to obtain rail corridor competencies Available for rostered
night, weekend and possession coverage Strong coaching and
communication skills Practical site presence and authentic
engagement with workforce
