We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team.
This is a great opportunity for an accountant who has built a solid foundation in business services and taxation and is ready to take the next step — working more independently, developing stronger client relationships and continuing to grow their technical skills.
About the Role
As an Intermediate Accountant, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of clients and be responsible for preparing high-quality accounting and taxation work, while working closely with our senior managers.
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
- Preparation of BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations
- Tax planning and general taxation advice
- Preparation and review of management reports and supporting schedules
- Assisting with new client onboarding and implementation
- Implementing Xero and Payroll set up for new clients
- Liaising directly with clients, the ATO and other external parties
- Assisting with client queries and identifying issues that require further advice
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
- Working with senior team members on more complex client matters
- Managing your own workflow and meeting lodgement and client deadlines
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes
About You
We’re looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
- Approximately 2–4 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of entities
- A good understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- CA or CPA studies underway, or an intention to commence
