We are recruiting a Food Machine Operator with strong hands-on capability and proven experience operating automated packaging equipment — particularly a thermoforming machine.
Position Overview
This is a full-time position responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily production and packaging operations. The role includes supervising production staff, ensuring effective workflow, machine operation, quality control, documentation, and continuous improvement along side our Warehouse Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, program and troubleshoot Thermoformer packaging equipment (or similar machinery)
- Oversee daily production and packaging workflow to meet schedule and output targets along side our Warehouse Manager
- Assist our Warehouse Manager with the training of new and existing staff on machinery, safety, workflow, and quality standards
- Ensure products meet quality, labelling, and food safety requirements
- Maintain accurate batch documentation, production logs and compliance records
- Ensure all activity adheres to HACCP and OHS and company procedures
Required Experience
- Experience operating a thermoformer or similar automated food packaging equipment
- Previous work in a food production or FMCG workplace
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Knowledge of food safety, compliance, traceability and documentation standards
- High attention to detail, organization, and reliable work practices
- HACCP or Food Safety qualification
- Experience in bakery, high-volume production or similar environments
Full-time position
Based in Somerton, VIC
Standard hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00am - 4pm (flexible - to be agreed upon with management)
Flexibility during peak operational periods may be required
