Take ownership of day-to-day operations across an established hospitality network, lead operational performance and play a key role in the next stage of the business.
Our client is an established and highly successful Australian hospitality business with a strong presence across Melbourne. Following a period of consolidation and investment in its operational foundations, the business is preparing for its next stage of growth and is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations across its network. This is an opportunity to join a well-established business with strong systems, high standards and an experienced ownership team, while still having genuine scope to influence how the operation develops from here.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the owners, you will have responsibility for operational performance across a multi-site hospitality network. This is very much a hands-on role. You will spend considerable time out in the business, working closely with franchisees and store teams to ensure operational standards are maintained, issues are addressed quickly and consistently, and each location has the support it needs to perform. You will build robust relationships across the network while still being prepared to have the difficult conversations when standards are not being met. A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to improve the way the business operates. You will review existing processes, implement and embed SOPs, work with suppliers and contractors, and ensure operational initiatives are actually adopted at store level. You will also be closely involved in new site openings,
major projects and significant events and activations.
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an experienced hospitality operations professional who understands the realities of running a busy multi-site business.
Ideally, you will have worked within a QSR, casual dining, franchise or similarly fast-paced hospitality environment and have experience supporting multiple locations rather than managing a single venue.
You will understand how to work effectively with franchisees and experienced operators. You will know when to support, when to challenge and how to gain buy-in when changes need to be made.
Strong operational experience is essential. You will be comfortable improving processes, implementing SOPs, managing suppliers and contracts, monitoring operational performance and ensuring agreed standards are being followed consistently across multiple locations.
Most importantly, you will be someone who likes being in the thick of the operation. You will be visible, approachable and practical, but also confident enough to hold people accountable and address problems rather than work around them.
Experience with new site openings will be highly regarded.
Rewards and Benefits
The base salary for this position is $135,000 + superannuation, together with a fully maintained vehicle or car allowance and additional employee benefits.
This is a senior, hands-on role with direct access to the owners and considerable influence over the day-to-day operation of the business.
You will be involved in new site openings, major projects and events and will join the business at an exciting stage in its development.
