An experienced Project Manager is required for a 12-month contract with a Queensland Government department, delivering critical care, maintenance, remediation and rehabilitation projects across former mine sites.

This is a hands-on delivery role managing projects from planning and procurement through to contractor management, risk, reporting and close-out.

The role

You will:

- Manage mine remediation, rehabilitation and care and maintenance projects.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and technical specialists undertaking site works, investigations and monitoring.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks and delivery.
- Develop scopes of work and support procurement and contract management.
- Manage environmental, operational and safety risks.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, landholders, local government, Traditional Owners and other stakeholders.
- Provide explicit project advice, reporting and briefings to senior and executive stakeholders.

About you

You will bring:

- Strong project management experience in mining, resources, engineering, civil construction, environmental remediation or rehabilitation.




- Experience managing contractors, consultants and site-based activities.
- Strong risk, governance and stakeholder management capability.
- The ability to work confidently with technical specialists and senior stakeholders.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to complex project delivery.

Relevant technical and/or project management qualifications will be highly regarded.

Important requirements

- current C Class driver's licence is mandatory.
- Regular travel to regional and remote project sites is required and may include overnight stays. You must be able to work safely in active or former mine environments and meet all site induction, access and PPE requirements.
- The successful candidate will also be required to complete relevant pre-engagement checks, including referee, eligibility to work, criminal history and qualification checks where applicable.

Contract: August 2026 - July 2027

Extension: Potential 1 x 12 months

Location: Brisbane / flexible, with regular site travel
