Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in FMCG?
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic team in Carrum Downs and partner closely with our Sales function to drive profitable growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to move beyond traditional financial reporting and use your commercial and analytical expertise to influence pricing, customer profitability, commercial opportunities and business performance.
As the company continues to grow and evolve, this pivotal role will play an increasingly influential part in shaping commercial decisions and identifying opportunities to improve margin and profitability. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally, build strong relationships across the business and see the direct impact of your analysis and recommendations. You will be trusted to own some of these recommendations and lead them to fruition.

About the Role:
As a commercially minded Finance Business Partner reporting to the CFO,you willwork closely with the Sales and Marketing team to turn financial and commercial data into practical insights that drive profitable growth. You will help the team understand customer and product profitability, support pricing and commercial negotiations,
assess new business opportunities and identify opportunities to improve margin and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with key stakeholders across departments to provide financial insight and support profitable revenue growth.
- Analyse customer, product and channel profitability and identify opportunities to improve margin.
- Support pricing reviews, customer negotiations, tenders and commercial agreements through robust financial analysis.
- Develop financial models and business cases for new customers, products, promotions and other commercial opportunities.
- Analyse discounts, rebates, promotional investment and trading terms to assess their financial impact and return.
- Provide Sales leadership with clear reporting on revenue, margin, customer performance and key commercial KPIs.
- Support sales budgeting and forecasting, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Develop scenario and "what-if" analysis to help Sales understand the financial consequences of commercial decisions.
- Manage our reporting tools (BI)
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, pricing improvement, product mix optimisation and customer profitability.
- Challenge assumptions and provide objective, data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial information into clear and commercially relevant insights that Sales can act on.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong financial analysis, a genuine commercial curiosity, technical capabilities, and a proactive/outcome-focus attitude.
You will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance,
Accounting, Commerce, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
- Experience in commercial finance, financial analysis, management accounting, sales finance or finance business partnering.
- Experience partnering with a Sales or Commercial team, ideally within FMCG, food, dairy or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of customer profitability, product margins, pricing, discounts, rebates and promotional investment.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with confidence working with large datasets.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand the difference between simply growing revenue and growing profitable revenue.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Advanced data modelling, large data manipulation, Reporting tools (Power BI preferred) and ERP systems capability.
- A proactive, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
- CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.
