About the role

We are seeking a Practice Manager to join Miami Family Medical Centre in Miami, QLD 4220 on a casual basis. This role is pivotal to the smooth and efficient operation of our medical practice, ensuring that administrative, financial, and operational functions run seamlessly. As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the practice, supporting clinical staff, managing patient interactions, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care. This position offers flexibility through casual work arrangements whilst enabling you to make a significant impact on the quality of healthcare delivery within our community.

Key responsibilities

- Managing administrative operations and ensuring smooth day-to-day practice management
- Overseeing reception and patient scheduling to optimise clinic flow and patient experience
- Supervising and supporting reception and administrative staff members
- Managing patient records and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant privacy legislation
- Handling financial management, including billing, invoicing, and accounts administration
- Coordinating with healthcare practitioners and ensuring effective communication across the team
- Maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and accreditation requirements




- Managing practice budgets and monitoring expenditure
- Implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures
- Liaising with external organisations, suppliers, and healthcare providers as required
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice standards within the practice

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in medical practice management or healthcare administration within a similar setting
- Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, privacy legislation, and medical practice standards
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff
- Demonstrated financial management and bookkeeping experience
- Professional demeanour and commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection
- Problem-solving ability and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
- A genuine commitment to providing excellent patient-centred care and support
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in medical administration or healthcare management (preferred)
- Experience working within a general practice environment (preferred)
