Job Description
- Full-time, Ongoing position.
- Campbelltown campus with flexible working arrangements.
- Salary: Academic Level B $123,327 – $145,625 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.
Teach, research and build partnerships in exercise physiology to support student success in health, rehabilitation and lifespan wellbeing.
The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology to contribute to high-quality teaching, curriculum design and research within the School of Health Sciences.
You will coordinate, design, deliver and evaluate teaching across exercise physiology and related disciplines, supporting undergraduate students through research-informed learning, feedback and assessment. You will also contribute to curriculum development and help students build pathways into postgraduate research and study.
You will develop scholarship, research and professional expertise in areas such as disability across the lifespan, mental health, rehabilitation and aged care. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the School, Faculty and University, while building connections with academic, industry and professional partners.
What Success Looks Like:
Success in this position will be demonstrated through the delivery of high-quality, research-informed teaching, scholarship and discipline engagement that supports student learning and contributes to the School of Health Sciences. This will involve:
- Coordinating, designing, delivering and evaluating teaching subjects, including feedback and assessment.
- Supporting undergraduate students through research-informed teaching and pathways into postgraduate research and study.
- Contributing to research, scholarship and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
- Publishing research in high-quality outlets and contributing to internal and external grant proposals.
- Building collaborative relationships across the School, Faculty, University and relevant external partners.

About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about Exercise Physiology and committed to delivering outstanding outcomes in teaching, research and student success. To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A doctoral or master's qualification in a field relevant to Exercise Physiology, with a completed PhD, or currently working towards PhD completion, preferred.
- Current Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) status with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Proven success in tertiary teaching and learning, demonstrated through student, peer or supervisor feedback.
- Research or scholarship experience, including peer-reviewed publications or other discipline-related outputs.
- Experience supervising research students and supporting research grant development.
