Role: Manager, Applications Services - Finance
Day Rate: $1000 + Super
Contract Length: Initial contract until 18 Dec 2026
Location: Macquarie Park/WFH Flex (3 days on site)

We're looking for an experienced Applications Services Manager to lead the support, operation and continuous improvement of a portfolio of critical enterprise finance applications.

This is a senior applications leadership role suited to someone with strong technical acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience leading technical application support teams within a large, complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead a team of application specialists and data professionals delivering Level 2 and Level 3 application support.
- Take ownership of application service delivery across a critical finance systems portfolio.
- Provide technical leadership across application support, incidents, problems, changes, releases and enhancements.
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement across application performance, reliability, processes and service delivery.
- Oversee application changes across requirements, configuration, testing, deployment, release and ongoing maintenance.
- Establish and manage service levels, operational metrics and performance expectations.
- Manage external technology suppliers and vendors, including SLAs and supplier performance.
- Balance competing priorities across business stakeholders, technical teams and external partners.
- Coach,



develop and provide direction to a high-performing applications team.

About You

This role would suit a technically strong Applications Manager who enjoys being close enough to the technology to challenge, guide and support technical teams, while still operating at a senior stakeholder and service ownership level.

- Robust technical acumen across enterprise applications and modern application environments.
- Significant experience leading Application Support, Application Services or Enterprise Applications teams.
- Experience managing technical professionals providing Level 2 and Level 3 support.
- Experience acting as an Application Service Owner within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integrations and dependencies across enterprise technology environments.
- Solid understanding of IT Service Management principles and practices, ideally within an ITIL-aligned environment.
- Experience working with cloud-based applications and SaaS, PaaS and/or IaaS environments.
- Strong incident, problem, change and release management experience.
- Excellent vendor and supplier management capability.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
- Experience supporting business-critical enterprise platforms, ideally within finance, ERP or other major corporate systems.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new technologies and complex application environments.

TechnologyOne Financials experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
