The Van Dyke Press is an established market leader in labels and food packaging printing based in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches. We are looking for an experienced part-time pre-press operator to assist our current full-time pre-press team. This is a permanent part-time role with approximately 20 hours per week over 3-4 days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and check files for print production using industry standard software
- Set up and adjust printing plates, ensure correct layout, format and colour specifications
- Perform proofing, quality checks and corrections before final plate production
- Ensure all materials meet printing specifications and customer requirements
- Operate pre-press equipment and maintain it in a clean and safe condition
- Apply knowledge of printing processes, colour management and layout standards
About you
- Minimum one year of full-time experience in a similar pre-press or printing environment
- Robust knowledge of pre-press procedures, colour theory and print specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when preparing files
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a production workflow
- Willingness to take on any pre-press tasks as required
- Pre-press experience is essential
- Experience in food packaging or labels printing is preferred but not essential
