About Us
Larvotto Resources (LVR) is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project in Armidale, NSW. This project offers a unique opportunity to work within the mining industry and reside in the vibrant regional town of Armidale, renowned for its quality of life, educational institutions, and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney, Armidale is just a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
Larvotto Resources is forging ahead with current ramp up activities on our Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Mining project. We are now seeking an experienced Senior Mine Geologist to join the onsite mining team.
Roster: Residential role on 5/2 – 4/3 roster - Day Shift Only
About the Role
Reporting into the Mine Geology Manager the Senior Mine Geologist will be responsible for underground and open cut mine geological control and supervision
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Supervise, manage and train the Mine Geologists
- Coordinate geological activities, focusing on grade control using best practices.
- Supervise ore zone mining to maximise recovery and minimise dilution.
- Oversee and manage grade control drilling programs.
- Interpret 3D data and generate Grade Control models for mine planning.
- Implement QA/QC procedures for data collection, sampling, and communicate lab trends.
- Maintain production, drillhole, and ore tracking databases.
- Ensure quality structural measurements from mapping and core logging.
- Mark up ore development faces and open cut blocks with clear instructions for Mining teams.
- Compile reconciliation data and collaborate with Engineers for stope and block reconciliations.
- Oversee technical reporting, including daily,
weekly, and monthly reports.
- Manage stockpiles from mine and ROM pads.
About You
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology
- 8+ years’ relevant industry experience (underground and open cut hard rock preferred).
- Strong technical skills in Micromine, and Microsoft Office applications.
Other Requirements
- Current valid Manual Driver's License
- Ability to supervise mature, confident and capable mine geology team.
- Underground is the primary focus but Open Cut experience will be welcome.
- Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old), or undertake
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
