Hitek Steel Framing is a leading national manufacturer of prefabricated light gauge steel framing systems.

With continued growth in our Queensland operations, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager to assist in leading our manufacturing team and driving operational excellence.

Job Summary

Assist in leading our Queensland production team through an exciting period of growth, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing while delivering projects on time and building the operational foundations for continued expansion.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production facility — manufacturing, scheduling, quality, inventory, safety and team performance.

You will work closely with project administration, design, warehouse and logistics teams to ensure production targets are achieved and quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise and develop the production team to achieve daily and weekly production targets.

- Plan and coordinate manufacturing schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines.

- Monitor workflow, production output and resource allocation to maximise efficiency.

- Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with specifications and quality standards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste and improve operational performance

- Manage inventory levels and coordinate material availability with procurement and warehouse teams.





- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.

- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, company policies and quality procedures.

- Prepare production reports, monitor KPIs and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager.

- Support the development of production systems, processes and team structure

- Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in a Production Manager or Operations Manager role within a manufacturing workplace.

- Experience in a steel frame and truss manufacturing operation is highly preferred. Candidates with a background in timber frame and truss manufacturing will also be strongly considered.

- Strong leadership and people management skills

- Experience managing production planning, scheduling and resource allocation.

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Strong organisational and communication skills.

- High level computer skills, including Microsoft Office
