The SESLHD Mental Health Service is a specialised clinical service, providing care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.

Are you an experienced mental health clinician and/or innovative manager and enjoy working with the elderly? This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a great team of nurses and allied health professionals and a supportive and innovative management team to provide quality care to members of the community aged 65 years or older with mental illness in an inpatient setting.

Where you'll be working

Euroa, Older Persons Inpatient Unit, ESMHS, located on the Prince of Wales Hospital campus, Randwick.

Selection Criteria:

1. Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife and current NSW Driver’s License.
2. Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
3. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to lead a team with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice and person-centred practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse verbal and written communication and make decisions or inferences from the data, including an ability to analyse complex numerical data and draw logical conclusions.
5. Demonstrated experience in the management of quality and safety processes, including the ability to analyse patterns and trends within recent or unique sets of data.
6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care.
7. Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing change and developing direction in clinical practice within a person-centred framework, including an ability to recognise, understand and influence own and others’ emotions.
8. Leadership experience in the initiation and development of team goals and plans,



and the use feedback to inform future planning.
