Description

At The Union Dairy Company, we are committed to providing a solid and secure dairy processing company that partners with local farmers to deliver quality Australian product throughout the world. The Union Dairy Company has an annual processing capacity of 300 million liters of raw milk and began production in 2017. Located in Penola, South Australia – the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Penola, SA

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervise daily production operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved
- Lead, coach, and support production employees while fostering a positive team culture and ensuring adequate staffing across all production processes
- Monitor production performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, minimise downtime, and reduce waste
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), food safety, quality standards, GMP, and company policies and procedures
- Monitor milk solids retention, production losses,



and product yields while identifying opportunities to improve process efficiency and minimise waste
- Coordinate production schedules and work collaboratively with maintenance and other departments to maximise plant reliability and operational performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records, inventory, and shift handover documentation to support productive production operations

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

- Relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Food Processing, Engineering, or a related discipline (desirable)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or food processing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), food safety, quality systems, and production processes
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Ability to work independently, build effective working relationships, and maintain a high level of attention to detail

Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 AUD
