As a Maintenance Fitter in poultry manufacturing, you will be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance of production equipment and machinery.
Your role ensures high uptime, safety, reliability, and compliance with food-processing standards. This role is critical in supporting production efficiency and achieving minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Perform start-up checks and complete preventative maintenance tasks designed to minimize breakdown risks and optimize equipment longevity
- Perform preventative, planned, and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimise downtime
- Production Line setup and ensuring all lines are running smoothly
- Solve technical problems and check to ensure smooth production/packaging run
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance Management to discuss problems and improvements
- Maintain accurate records in a systematized manner of maintenance activities, including service logs and parts usage
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
About you
- Trade qualifications in Fitter / Turning are required
- Proven experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or food production environment
- Robust mechanical aptitude and experience with workshop activities such as lathe, machining, welding, and rebuilds
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving mechanical systems
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Drivers Licence and Forklift license required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
