About the role

Client service delivery is integral in providing information and support to Queenslanders affected by cancer across the cancer continuum, through prevention to end of life. We provide information and support required to navigate through the cancer journey including counselling, our 13 •1 20 information and support line, accommodation and transport, Wigs and Headwear and PalAssist.

The Manager, Navigation and Support Services is responsible for the leadership of Navigation Services including 13 •1 20 (National Navigation) and PalAssist, Specialist Care Services, Psychology Services and Support Programs. You will manage the delivery of quality, targeted, accessible, effective and efficient services, ensuring population diversity, health inequity and cultural relevance are a key consideration. As part of the Services Leadership Team you will work with the Director of Services to operationalise strategic priorities, forecast, develop and manage service budgets, and provide leadership and guidance to your direct reports and the wider team.





About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Health (Nursing, Allied Health, Social Work or other related disciplines).
- Registration with Australian Health Professional Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or respective professional body.
- Experience in the day to day management of a team in a clinical/health service or community services environment, such as a human services contact centre, psychology services and other support services.
- Experience in assessing patient/client needs and making appropriate referrals to health professionals, community services and non-government organisations, utilising problem-solving skills and a client centered approach.
- Experience in the provision of psychosocial and information support.
- Demonstrated ability to practice within an evidence-based framework. Proven ability to develop and maintain constructive professional networks. Understanding of the impact of a cancer diagnosis and knowledge of the psychosocial and information needs of people affected by cancer, and experience with culturally responsive practice, trauma informed practice and the use of strength-based approaches would be highly regarded.
