Position Profile: This position provides, maintains and operates Echocardiography Laboratory services for the assessment of patient with known or suspected heart disease inclusive of routine and complex cardiac ultrasound examinations and testing services. The Senior Sonographer is responsible for the provision of the echocardiography service within their area of expertise within the Hospital and works as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This is a Permanent Full Time Appointment.

1. Professional Eligibility and Accreditation
2. Holds the required tertiary qualification in a relevant health/science discipline and maintains accreditation as a Medical Sonographer with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR), demonstrating commitment to professional standards, clinical governance and ongoing professional development.
3. Advanced Cardiac Sonography Expertise
4.



Demonstrated extensive experience performing and reporting routine and complex cardiac ultrasound examinations, including stress echocardiography and advanced tissue Doppler/strain imaging, with the ability to work autonomously and provide high-quality diagnostic services.
5. Specialist Clinical Knowledge and Diagnostic Judgement
6. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, haemodynamics and the pathophysiology of cardiac disease, with the ability to apply clinical reasoning and diagnostic judgement to support accurate assessment, prioritisation and patient care outcomes.
7. Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Collaborative Practice
8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, medical practitioners and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including preparation of written reports, discussion of clinical findings and contribution to coordinated service delivery.
9. Quality, Service Delivery and Operational Flexibility
10. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, service delivery and regional healthcare outcomes, with the ability to contribute to quality assurance activities, support service delivery across the Kimberley region and meet the operational requirements of travel associated with outreach and visiting services.
