GTNT Group is proud to partner with North Australian Aboriginal Justicevc Agency (NAAJA) to offer an exciting traineeship opportunity as an Office Administration Trainee, undertaking a Certificate III or IV in Business (BSB30120 or BSB40120) whilst being paid.

About the position -

NAAJA’s administration and client services teams play a vital role in ensuring that legal services are welcoming, accessible and responsive for Aboriginal clients and communities.

Reporting to the Assets and Facilities Manager the Office Administration Trainee will undertake a structured learning role while completing a Certificate III or IV in Business. With ongoing supervision, mentoring and training from the Assets and Facilities Manager, Criminal Administration and Throughcare teams, the Trainee will provide reception and basic administrative support at the Jock Nelson Centre, Alice Springs.

The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency Ltd (NAAJA) provides legal assistance and justice services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Northern Territory. It has offices in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. NAAJA is recognised as a leading legal service and has received national and local human rights and crime prevention awards for its work. NAAJA is committed to providing quality representation for clients and bringing about long-term change in the justice system through law reform and education.

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

- Ability to obtain working with children's clearance (Ochre Card)
- Satisfactory criminal history check and no history of disqualification from employment by a legal practice




- Punctual, dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who have an ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines as part of a team.

Aboriginal Identified Position

This is an Aboriginal identified position. Under section 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 (NT), it is a genuine occupational requirement that the occupant of this position be an Aboriginal person. NAAJA’s clients are predominantly Aboriginal people, many of whom experience cultural, linguistic and systemic barriers when engaging with the criminal justice system. The role requires the ability to build trust, communicate effectively and provide culturally protected administrative and client service support. Aboriginality is therefore an essential requirement of this position.

Qualification Description:

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. It is likely that these individuals are establishing their own work performance. Individuals in these roles carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. They apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.

Nominal Duration:
This qualification has a set nominal duration of 12 months for Certificate III in Business and 24 months for Certificate IV in Business
