HD Enterprises is seeking an experienced Administration Manager to take ownership of the administration function across our established Northern Territory business.
Based at our Humpty Doo head office, this is a senior, hands-on role leading a small administration team and overseeing payroll, HR, finance administration, business systems and general administration across the group.
Reporting directly to our two owner-directors, both of whom work actively within the business, you'll have genuine autonomy while working closely with managers across our operations and our external bookkeeper.
Our current Administration Manager is transitioning out of the role, allowing for a comprehensive handover and training period with the successful applicant.
About HD Enterprises
HD Enterprises is a long-established Northern Territory business employing approximately 35 people across two branches.
Our operations include HD Pumps - Winnellie, along with HD Pumps - Humpty Doo and Humpty Doo Hardware, which together form our Humpty Doo branch.
We're a practical, close-knit business with owners and management actively involved in day-to-day operations.
About the Role
As Administration Manager, you'll take overall responsibility for the administration function and lead a team of three staff covering accounts payable, accounts receivable and general administration.
You'll remain hands-on in key areas while managing and developing the team and ensuring the administrative side of the business runs smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, managing and developing a team of three administration staff, including recruitment, training, mentoring and performance support
- Processing weekly payroll for approximately 35 employees, including timesheets, overtime, allowances, leave, superannuation and payroll-related obligations
- Supporting managers with HR administration, Fair Work and award compliance, recruitment, onboarding and employee matters
- Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and general administration
- Managing key finance administration including banking, bank reconciliations, BAS/GST and month-end processes
- Liaising with our external bookkeeper, accountant and other professional providers
- Coordinating business insurance and vehicle/asset finance documentation
- Coordinating company IT requirements through external IT support providers and contractors
- Maintaining and improving administration systems, procedures and internal processes
- Providing general administrative and financial support to the owner-directors and management team
Our primary business system is MYOB Acumatica, supported by 1Retail for point of sale and TimeTrak for job management.
About You
We're looking for an experienced administration professional who is ready to take ownership of an important function within a medium-sized business.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant senior administration, administration management or office management experience
- Experience managing or supervising an administration or accounts team
- Strong practical payroll experience
- Sound bookkeeping and financial administration skills
- A good working knowledge of Australian awards, Fair Work requirements and general HR administration
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with business systems and learning recent software
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work directly with owners, managers, staff and external providers
- A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to take responsibility
Qualifications in bookkeeping, business administration or a related area will be well regarded; however, relevant experience and demonstrated capability are more important to us than formal qualifications.
Experience with MYOB Acumatica, 1Retail or TimeTrak would be advantageous but isn't essential.
What We Offer
- $95,000-$110,000 + super, depending on experience
- Company performance bonus
- Full-time position, generally 8:00am-5:00pm
- A senior role with genuine autonomy and broad responsibility
- Direct access to the owner-directors and management
- An established administration team and external bookkeeping support
- A planned handover with our current Administration Manager
- The opportunity to improve systems and processes and make the role your own
- A stable, long-established Northern Territory business
- A close-knit, practical working environment
- Convenient Humpty Doo location with easy on-site parking
This is a full-time, office-based position at our Humpty Doo head office.
If you're an experienced administration professional looking for a broad management role where you can take genuine ownership and become a key part of an established NT business, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply through SEEK with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience
