We are currently seeking experienced and mechanically minded Die Setters to join our Bayswater manufacturing team. While this position is primarily on Afternoon Shift, we also welcome expressions of interest from candidates seeking Day Shift opportunities.
About the Opportunity
As a Die Setter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our production equipment. This hands-on position is responsible for setting, maintaining and optimising dies and tooling to support production performance, quality outcomes and food safety requirements.
Working closely with the Production Leader and broader manufacturing team, you will help minimise downtime, improve equipment performance and ensure our products consistently meet customer and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Set up, change over and fine-tune dies and tooling efficiently to minimise downtime and maximise production performance.
- Ensure the correct dies and tooling are installed and operating in accordance with company standards.
- Obtain first-off approval following die setups or repairs before handover to production operators.
- Troubleshoot die, machine and production issues and provide technical support to the manufacturing team.
- Respond to equipment issues and assist with maintenance-related activities to support operational continuity.
- Monitor equipment performance and proactively identify quality, serviceability and production concerns.
- Maintain tooling documentation, production records and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support schedule adherence and contribute to achieving production targets and operational efficiency goals.
- Work collaboratively with Die Setters, Operators and Maintenance personnel to ensure smooth production operations.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment in line with OH&S; requirements.
- Support food safety and quality standards, including HACCP requirements and housekeeping practices.
- Identify and report hazards, food safety risks, equipment issues and non-conformances.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and contribute ideas to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive team player with strong mechanical aptitude and experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
You will bring:
- Previous experience as a Die Setter or in a similar manufacturing tooling, press-setting or production role.
- Strong mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment and tooling issues.
- Experience working with technical equipment, tooling and hand tools in a manufacturing setting.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards and food safety requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good computer literacy and experience maintaining accurate production records.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- A positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset.
Desirable Experience
The following will be highly regarded:
- Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline such as Fitting & Turning or Toolmaking.
- Experience within food manufacturing, packaging or another regulated manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety and quality management systems.
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Flexibility to work across shifts as required to support operational needs.
