MANAGER FINANCE

Based in Corowa, but will work across the Federation Council area

- Permanent Full-time 70 Hours Per Fortnight
- Salary commencing from - $143,049 inclusive of superannuation
- Salary may be negotiable for the right candidate
- Salary Packaging with Maxxia
- Work a 9-day fortnight
- Leaseback vehicle option available

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an authentic, strategic, and resilient leader who brings:

- Qualifications / Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, plus full membership (or eligibility) with CPA/CA.
- Leadership strength with proven track record in leading teams, driving positive culture, and managing change.
- Technical expertise and a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), statutory reporting, budgeting, and financial modelling.
- Strategic thinking with ability to simplify complex financial data into actionable, high-level advice for executive stakeholders.
- Communication & Influence with outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.
- Highly Regarded: Experience in Local Government, familiarity with the Local Government Act (NSW) 1993, and experience with systems like Civica Authority.

Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications

2. Experience: Extensive senior financial management experience (local government experience highly regarded).

4. Governance: Strong knowledge of financial legislation, regulatory frameworks, and audit compliance.
5. Analytical & Reporting Skills: Proven ability to analyse complex financial matters and produce clear, high-level reports.
6. Communication: Exceptional written, verbal,



and stakeholder management skills.
7. Agility: Demonstrated resilience, autonomous working style, and ability to meet competing deadlines under pressure.
8. Continuous Improvement: Experience driving strategic direction, innovation, and process improvement.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $70.17 per hour with progression up to $77.46 per hour dependent upon skills and experience.
