Job Description

Join the dedicated Rehabilitation team at John Flynn Private Hospital as a Part-Time Registered Nurse, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to patients throughout their rehabilitation and recovery journey.

As a member of the clinical team, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care while working collaboratively with allied health professionals, medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

About You

You are a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. You are confident managing patients with varying rehabilitation needs and understand the importance of supporting patients to achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess, plan,



implement and evaluate individualised nursing care.
- Provide secure, high-quality and patient-centred care to rehabilitation patients.
- Support patients to achieve their individual rehabilitation and recovery goals.
- Monitor patients' clinical condition and recognise and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Promote patient independence, dignity and participation in their rehabilitation journey.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Promote infection prevention and control, patient safety and quality clinical outcomes.
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and seek assistance when required.
- Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.

You Will Also Bring

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Previous experience in rehabilitation, acute nursing or a similar clinical environment is highly regarded.
- Robust clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
- Ability to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional practice.




- Ability to recognise and appropriately escalate changes in a patient's condition.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Availability to work the required part-time roster.
