We're looking for a proactive, community-minded Community Grants Officer to administer Council's community grants program, partnering with local groups to turn outstanding ideas into real outcomes across the Shire.

Position Details

- Band 6, Permanent Part Time (0.40 FTE)
- $35,000 to $38,000 per annum, pro rata (0.40 FTE), plus superannuation
- Based in Daylesford, with travel to sites across the municipality
- Reports to the Coordinator Healthy Communities

About the team

Our Development and Community directorate works closely with local groups and residents to build a healthy, connected and resilient Shire, translating Council's strategic priorities into real outcomes on the ground.

About the role

You'll lead the administration of Council's community grants program, guiding applicants through the process, assessing funding applications, and supporting community groups to deliver great outcomes.

How You'll Make a Difference

- Deliver and continuously improve the community grants program in line with Council's strategic plans.
- Guide community groups through every stage of the grants process.
- Lead transparent, equitable assessment of grant applications.
- Manage grant agreements and the acquittal process, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on program performance.

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in community development, public administration,



social science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience delivering community grants or funding programs, ideally in local government.
- Strong understanding of governance, accountability and probity principles.
- Excellent administrative skills, including experience with platforms such as SmartyGrants.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities and deadlines.
- Current National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
