About the role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and creative Chef de Partie to join the team at Beku Gelato. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and expand our savory culinary offerings, bringing authentic and up-to-date Asian food to our upstairs dining space. In this role, you will take ownership of our kitchen's savory operations while also working hands-on with our team on artisanal gelato production and recipe development.

Key responsibilities
Take the lead in planning and executing a modern Asian food menu
Manage daily kitchen flow, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and high-quality presentation
Manage ingredient ordering, maintain stock rotation, and minimize food wastage
Ensure the kitchen and production areas operate in strict accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
Contribute ideas and recipe variations as we continue to grow our daytime and seasonal offerings

About you
Minimum 3 years of commercial kitchen experience,



with a demonstrated passion for and deep knowledge of modern Asian or Southeast Asian culinary traditions
Comfortable working in both a savory cafe kitchen and a specialized pastry/gelato environment
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
Robust attention to detail, excellent time-management, and the ability to work autonomously
A current Victorian Food Safety Supervisor certificate is highly desirable

Benefits
Salary Package: $65,000 – $72,000 per annum + Superannuation, commensurate with experience
