The Chance
Our client is a well-established, faith-based organisation with a strong commitment to its values and mission. An prospect is available for an experienced Accountant to join the Finance team and take ownership of the financial accounting and reporting for a portfolio of designated entities. This is a wide-ranging role covering full general ledger ownership, financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of the general ledger for designated entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Maintain accurate accounts and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage accruals, capital works accounting and financial reporting.
Prepare annual statutory financial statements and required government reporting.
Assist with BAS and FBT reporting.
Prepare monthly management reports and provide insightful commentary on financial performance and variances.
Assist with annual budgeting and financial analysis.
Liaise with external auditors and provide required working papers.
Review and approve Accounts Payable transactions.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance team.
Work closely with leadership, Business Partners and administration teams to provide meaningful financial insight.
About You - You will ideally have:
CA or CPA qualification.
Strong technical accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated experience owning and managing a full general ledger.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Experience with a large ERP system.
A willingness to support and align with the organisation's values and mission.
