Job Summary The Business Analyst – Energy & Utilities is responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the energy and utilities sector (electricity, gas, water, renewables). This role bridges business needs and technology solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering
Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives
Document functional and non-functional requirements
Business Process Analysis
Analyze existing utility processes (billing, metering, asset management, grid operations)
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement prospects
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze operational and customer data to generate insights
Prepare dashboards, reports, and KPIs
Solution Design Support
Collaborate with IT teams to design system enhancements or current solutions
Support implementation of enterprise systems (e.g., SAP IS-U, Oracle Utilities)
Regulatory & Compliance Support
Ensure solutions align with energy market regulations and compliance requirements
Stakeholder Management
Communicate clearly with business users, project teams, and vendors
Facilitate workshops and requirement sessions
Testing & Implementation
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
Validate system functionality against business requirements
