We're looking for an experienced Security Consultant to join a high-profile public sector digital platform programme on a contract basis.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in shaping and safeguarding the security posture of a major cloud-based data platform, working closely with architecture and engineering teams to ensure controls are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose in a government setting.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing security controls across the platform, including IAM, Lake Formation, and data classification boundaries
Ensuring platform components meet government security and data handling requirements
Reviewing architectural decisions for security risk and providing documented sign-off for deployment
What We're Looking For
Strong hands‑on experience with AWS security architecture
Proven expertise in threat modelling and risk treatment
Solid background in security logging and monitoring
Practical experience with AWS IAM, Lake Formation, and Splunk
Active SC Clearance (essential)
Rate: £440 per day (inclusive of fees)
Clearance: SC Cleared required
Location: Versatile, with occasional travel to Newcastle or Leeds
Engagement type: Contract position
