Deputy Nursery Manager (Level 3) – £39,000 – Permanent

The nursery is a light, spacious setting with separate rooms for different age groups, including a sensory room, a dedicated soft play room for babies, and a large garden used daily. Practice is well established, with children regularly taking part in activities such as yoga, gardening and straightforward science experiments. This role supports the Nursery Manager in leading day-to-day practice, staff, and standards across the setting, with explicit responsibility and structure.

This position is not suitable for candidates without leadership experience in a nursery setting.

What You’ll Need
Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
Proven experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager or Third in Charge
Strong working knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
Confidence supporting staff practice and operational decisions

What You’ll Do
Support the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the setting
Maintain consistent standards across rooms, routines, and practice
Guide and support room leaders and practitioners
Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and compliance requirements are met
Contribute to planning, observation, and quality improvement
Step into leadership cover when required
