Public Sector People are partnering with a metropolitan Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Strategic Open Space Planner for a long-term contract through to approximately June 2027 .

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a significant urban renewal precinct, helping shape the future delivery of public open space, recreation facilities and community infrastructure .

About the Role You will:
Develop strategic open space and recreation planning
Help determine future open space and facility requirements
Contribute to concept designs, masterplans and precinct planning
Provide strategic and design input into future public spaces
Manage projects and external consultants
Work closely with Council, government and community stakeholders
Prepare clear reports,



strategies and presentations

About You

We're looking for someone with:
Experience in strategic open space planning
A background in landscape architecture, landscape design, urban design or planning
Strong project management and strategic thinking skills
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Government experience highly regarded
